ADULTS with learning disabilities in Droitwich Spa will now be able to have a say in who provides their county council services, thanks to a new pilot scheme.
The scheme, being trialled by Worcestershire County Council, will mean the service users, who have received special training, will interview candidates for job positions.
Service users will attend a four-day training course, where they will learn about all parts of recruitment - from advertising jobs, shortlisting applicants through to practising interviewing skills with volunteers.
A spokeswoman for the county council said: "The idea is that once the training period is complete they get a certificate of attendance and then have to put the learning into practice by clocking up a number of interviews."
If the scheme is successful it will be rolled out to other towns in the county.
