A STUDLEY Liberal Democrat councillor has become the first to be appointed onto the otherwise Tory-dominated executive at Stratford Council.

Councillor Hazel Wright will take on the health portfolio for the authority but will be the only Liberal Democrat among eight Tories on the executive.

It is the first time the Tories have allowed a representative from another party into the main decision-making body.

The Lib Dems were asked by the Conservatives to appoint a representative for the executive after an audit report last year said the 'culture' of the council needed to change.
