MORE people in Worcester than ever before are paying for their television licence on time thanks to the TV Licensing's latest text message reminder service for those who pay weekly.

Following a successful pilot, during which 16 per cent more customers made their initial payment on time, more than 150 texts have now been sent to cash scheme payers in the city.

"This is new territory for TV Licensing, but we are a modern organisation striving to reach people wherever they are, depending on their lifestyles, to help them remember to pay," said Mark Whitehouse, who is TV Licensing spokesperson for the Midlands.

"By adopting a more personalised approach and using text, we hope people will only receive a visit from us in their inbox, and not on the doorstep.

Those using the Cash Easy Entry scheme can now opt to be reminded when their payments are due via text message service. For information call 0845 600 1023.
