A 78-year-old Bidford resident had a lucky escape after denying a bogus caller entry into her home.
The elderly woman from Grafton Lane, Bidford was visited by a man in his 20s who claimed to work for Dyno-Rod.
She refused to let him in but an elderly resident in Mappleborough Green did let a man in with the same excuse of needing to check the water supply and he got away with £400.
Police are linking the two incidents, and want to interview a white man who was wearing a body warmer with a checked shirt underneath.
Detective constable Craig Varney is investigating the incidents which happened on Wednesday, May 25, and asks anyone with information to contact Alcester CID on 01926 415000.
