MEMBERS of the Salford Priors Fete Committee are to host a weekend packed with events celebrating the 60th anniversary of VE day.
It kicks off tomorrow night at 7.30pm with a Home Front Black Country night held in a marquee on the playing fields with Aynuk and Ayli.
On Saturday, at 2pm, there will be a procession through the village with a celebration band, and an RAF Dakota paying a flying visit.
A variety of entertainment from a vintage vehicle display to a dog show and fair ground rides will also be available.
The evening will finish with a 40s-style Glen Miller band and a finale firework display to the Dambusters theme music.
For tickets, call 01789 773523. Proceeds are going towards the Royal British Legion.
On Sunday, a thanksgiving and remembrance service is to be held in the marquee at 10.30am marking the end of hostilities in the Second World War.
