ARTISTIC pupils at Broadway First School finished top of the class after taking part in a poster campaign to urge owners to pick up after their pets.

Schoolchildren were invited to design a poster to mark Poop Scoop Week, which runs from June 27 to July 4.

Wychavon District Council teamed up with the Dogs Trust and Bromsgrove District Council to run the competition where the winners will have their designs used for the promotional poster.

Wychavon dog warden Pip Singleton said; "Schools from Bromsgrove and Wychavon were invited to take part in the competition and I am delighted the winners come from Wychavon.

"Picking up your dogs mess is a serious message and we hope the eye catching posters remind residents to do their bit."

Two different age groups were involved in competitions and the winners were rewarded in a ceremony last Friday.

The first was the 10 to 16 age category in which the top three came from Broadway First School.

Won by ten-year-old Todd Rimell, second place was Thomas Gormley and in third place, Molly Watson Gliddon.

In the five to nine age category the winner also came from Broadway First School, with Paul Montague, aged seven, taking the honours.
