A PAIR of Race for Life runners tackled their training head on by taking part in a work-out with Worcester Ladies rugby players.

Carolin and Charlie Flothmann were put through their paces at Sixways ahead of their city run next week. They were joined by six women from Worcester, including Nicky Crawford and Lotty Keys, both stars of the England Ladies team, to learn about warm-up routines.

Mrs and Miss Flothmann are the wife and daughter of Thomas Flothmann, managing director of Beiersdorf, one of the event's sponsors.

The company is sending staff and families on a series of alternative training sessions - one included an Egyptian dance workshop.

All the places in the women-only Race For Life event in Worcester have been taken. Money raised by the three mile run, which starts at Pitchcroft at 11am on Sunday, June 12, goes to Cancer Research UK.
