POLICE are carrying out 'anniversary checks' at the scene of a serious sexual assault on a girl.
The incident is believed to have occurred in the Briar Mill area of Droitwich some time between 9.15am and 10.45am on Thursday.
Uniformed officers and detectives also hope to talk to anyone who was in the area at the time, and may have seen someone acting suspiciously or who has other useful information.
The officers are carrying out anniversary checks - monitoring activity in the area at regular intervals - to see if anyone suspicious returns.
To help with the investigation, a police helicopter hovered overhead yesterday afternoon, taking aerial photographs to get the lie of the land.
Police have renewed an appeal to anyone who was in the area between the given times to contact them on 08457 444 888, quoting 60C/050505.
"A number of uniform police officers will be in the Briar Mill area for a number of days as our enquiries progress," said Det Insp David Bartlett, who is heading the investigation into the attack.
A description of the attacker is not yet available.
