MATHON, Cradley & Storridge (MCS) men's tennis team started their summer league campaign with a fine 3-1 away victory against Leominster B.
William Coomer, playing his first league match, partnered Tony Dalley. They won a hard-fought opening rubber 7-6, 6-4. They lost their second match 5-7, 4-6.
The MCS pair of Martyn Coomer and Duncan Hannaford also had a competitive opening rubber, winning 7-6, 6-2. Martyn and Duncan secured the match, playing fast and accurate ground strokes to win a one-sided final rubber 6-0, 6-0.
