MALVERN'S Three Counties Showground will be transformed into a gardener's paradise for the Spring Gardening Show 2005.

The 20th anniversary event runs from Friday to Sunday, May 13 to 15, and is packed with attractions.

Fifteen inspirational show gardens will be on display, including The Elysium Swan Lake Garden.

Based on the classic ballet, this features a statue of black and white swans on a blue glass lake, with black and white planting against a night-time backdrop of woodland flora and fauna.

Others include You Just Plant Around It, a walk-in sundial three metres in diameter and A Garden Hideaway, complete with a Red Indian tipi.

New for this year is an interactive design theatre, where fans of TV gardening shows can get advice from their favourite celebrities.

Friday will feature an audience with Alan Titchmarsh, while on Sunday Chris Bearshaw will hold plant doctor surgeries, where people can bring along their plants and get advice. Joe Swift, of Gardeners' World, will be answering questions on Saturday and Sunday.

James Alexander Sinclair, who hosts Channel 4's Great Garden Challenge, will be interviewing growers in the theatre each day. He said this would be more interactive, exciting and interesting than anything done at a garden show before.

James told the Malvern Gazette & Ledbury Reporter: "Usually, garden designers get the glory but we're going to ask nurserymen and growers to talk about how they grow their plants and why they're so passionate about that sort of plant."

After seeing and hearing how the experts do it, gardeners can browse a wide range of specialist stalls, buy plants and revolutionary gadget for their own garden, view the beautiful flowers in the 1.6-acres RHS floral marquee and return home filled with inspiration.

BBC Gardeners' World will be filming at Malvern for the fifth year running, on the Thursday and Friday.

Tickets to the show are from £12.50 to £15 (free for children up to 15 years), available at the gate.
