WEST Malvern composer Paul Farrer has written the theme tune for a British version of the Jerry Springer Show, due to be broadcast on ITV later this year.

The American talk show host is currently filming the show in Manchester. It is expected to be broadcast five mornings a week and will feature British guests in the same confessional-style format as the US version.

Mr Farrer, who also wrote the theme to The Weakest Link, said viewers could expect something a little different from the title music.

"It's quite a departure from regular daytime TV music," he said, "They wanted it to be hard and fast and pacey so there's lots of guitars and drums. It's almost Fatboy Slim-like."

Mr Farrer is also completing a multi-media centre at Raglan House in West Malvern.

The centre will have recording studios on the ground floor, studio production rooms for animation and video on the second floor and self-contained flats on the third floor.

He said he hoped the project would be complete within the next three months.
