BOTH divisional championships have been decided on the penultimate Sunday in The Soccer Site Malvern Football League after two close games.

Oak AllStars entertained last season's champions Bishops Frome knowing that only a victory would be good enough to give them the title. But Oak suffered a poor start and fell behind in the fifth minute when Neil Berry headed home a Chris Jefferson cross.

Things got worse for Oak AllStars a minute later when a free-kick from Wayne Tizzard found Jason Westmacott, who raced through the home defence to slot the ball home. Bishops Frome made it 3-0 just before half-time when Jefferson seemed to be chasing a lost cause as the ball appeared to be going out for a goal-kick. Somehow he sent in a shot from almost on the line and, despite the acute angle, the ball ended in the back of the net.

The game seemed as good as over when Tizzard fired over a free-kick that found the head of Wayne Hoskins and the ball flashed into the net.

A minute later there was almost a repeat but Hoskins' header was brilliantly saved by Oak keeper Glynn Morris to deny Bishops Frome a five-goal lead.

This proved to be a turning point as Oak Allstars started a fight back and pulled a goal back when Frome's Dave Gilbert headed into his own net. Zeki Koral pulled another goal back when he headed a left-wing cross home.

The game really gained in intensity when with five minutes to go, Mark Toman weaved past several tackles before putting Lee Clueit through just inside the area and he made no mistake with his shot from 12 yards.

Despite pushing forward, Oak Allstars could not pull another goal back and the title went to Bishops Frome.

In division two Perowne Park Rangers returned to the scene of their President's Cup triumph knowing that a draw with Dilligaf United would give them the double.

If they expected an easy game, they were in for a rude awakening as a very competitive home side more than matched them in a close-run game which saw Perowne take the title after a hard-fought 1-0 victory.

The first 25 minutes were fairly scrappy with only a couple of Perowne long range free-kicks presenting any threat to either goal before in the 26th minute Dilligaf's Blackie Smith broke through the visitors defence and it took a brave save from keeper Paul Evans to deny him.

Rangers took the lead in the 28th minute when a James Cale sent in a long-range free-kick and as a group of players rose together, the ball found the back of the net via the head of unfortunate defender Karl Lancett.

Dilligaf were close to an equaliser when Pat Locke broke clear on the right and sent in a clever chip which seemed destined for the feet of Smith who was clear in front of goal. Defender Paul Maguire just managed to get his head to the ball and did just enough to put Smith off and his effort was cleared. Alan Barnes pulled off a couple of good saves in the Dilligaf goal before his Perowne Park counterpart Paul Evans made a superb save by brilliantly tipping over a 30-yard effort from Locke.

Dilligaf had another chance to equalise when they had a free-kick right on the edge of the area but again Evans was equal to the task.

Karl Lancett appeared to have the chance to atone for his own goal when the ball found him in the Perowne six-yard box but it bounced awkwardly and his shot was deflected wide by a defender.

This proved to be Dilligaf's last chance and Perowne took the title, with Belmont Keys being runners up.

In the other division two games Keyz 04 beat All Stars Misfits 3-0 with goals from Graham Lowen and two from Andy Lancett.

Fromes Hill visited Keys Victoria and goals from Mike Wilesmith, Joe Roche, Wayne Davies and two from Shaun Taylor gave them a 5-0 victory.

In the day's only other game in division one, Morgan Aero 8 and Talbot Head shared the points in a goal- less draw.
