A WORLD-acclaimed choir from Glasgow will be journeying down to Worcester Cathedral to join forces with singing Hereford policemen in a fund-raising concert.

The Glasgow Phoenix Choir will get in tune with The Hereford Police choir to sing especially for the Cathedral's Appeal for Music & Light.

Susan George, a spokeswoman for Worcester Cathedral, said: "We look forward to a fantastic performance with a mix of modern and classical music."

Hereford Police Choir was originally formed in 1957 and aims to not only entertain audiences, but also raise funds for those in need, so far totting up more than £850,000 for charity.

The Glasgow Phoenix Choir, now in its 54th year, is at the forefront of choral music in Scotland and is appreciated by audiences throughout the Britain, Europe and North America. Over its history the choir has raised more than £1m for charity.

The concert will take place tomorrow in the Cathedral Nave at 7.30pm.
