STRATFORD Racecourse is gearing up for its annual Intrum Justitia Cup two-day meeting - its premier occasion of the year.

The event is expected to attract a large crowd of around 15,000 people over the two days and there is £165,000 added prize money on offer in the 13 races.

The six-race card starts on Friday, May 20, at 6.10pm with the GTH Construction Novices' Handicap Steeple Chase. The night's feature race is the Cham-pion Novices' Hunters Steeple Chase (8.10) when the winner will receive the John Corbet Cup.

Saturday evening's seven-race card gets under starter's orders at 5.45pm with The Pertemps Han-dicap Hurdle.

The highlight of the two-day meeting is the 47th running of the Intrum Justitia (Horse and Hound Cup) Champion Hunters' Stee-plechase, which is worth £32,000 this year at 7.20pm.

Another popular race will see the winner collecting the Stratford Millenium Rose Bowl, presented at the end of the Ladies Hunters' Steeple Chase for amateur lady riders.

Usual course prices apply, Club £16, Tattersalls £12, Centre Course/Picnic Area £6. Accom-panied children under 16 are admitted free to all enclosures.
