SEVENTEEN anglers fished the Bank Holiday Open when the warm weather saw the first 100lb plus weight of the year with Andy Pollard, Mosella Harriers, catching 146-4-0 mainly carp round about the 1lb stamp, with a few tench.

He fished pole at four metres and used pellet on the hook and fed pellet. He fished into a fierce wind, which made presentation difficult but he managed to get it spot on.

Matt Smith, Evesham Youth's young star, just failed to make his first ton of the year when also fishing short pole and pellet.

Chris Newton, on his first visit to the venue for 12 months, fished a superb match and quickly mastered the technique to catch fish.
