BROADWAY golfer Linda Carruthers has been named in the Gloucestershire Ladies squad for this weekend's County Week at Wrag Barn GC in Wiltshire.

Carruthers was a member of the county side that overcame their Worcestershire counterparts at Lilley Brook when the Cotswold club's ace tasted success in both the singles and doubles format.

She won her singles contest 5 and 3 after helping Jo Hodge to a 4 and 3 triumph in the morning's competition.

Broadway teenager Ed Kennedy qualified for a place in the National IZZO Club Champions Cup that takes place at the Forest of Arden on Tuesday, May 17.

The county junior ace, playing off three, easily overcame a strong field to win the club medal by three shots after carding a gross 68 last Sunday.
