TEN members attended the Federation of Music Societies' musical weekend at Daventry, Northamptonshire, from April 22 until 24.

There were several presenters, notably Dame Joan Sutherland, interviewed by Edward Greenfield, firstly talking about her husband, Richard Bonynge, assisted by a DVD showing him conducting, and then about her own career. Pianist Allan Schiller gave a talk about how he is "still tickling the ivories", Caroline Brown told about the formation of the Hanover Band, and broadcaster John Amis delighted with anecdotes and witticisms.

Each of the presentations included recorded extracts.

On the Sunday, the audience was entertained by Serenata Winds, from Birmingham Conservatoire. The event was organised by society chairman, Graham Kiteley, who is also treasurer of the FRMS.
