A LEARNER driver gave police false details when his car was stopped, Worcester Crown Court heard.
Thomas Barker assumed the identity of his friend Mark Brewer.
But by chance, the same officer who stopped him recognised him in another check four months later, said prosecutor Peter Tooke.
Barker, aged 19, of Canterbury Road, Kidderminster, pleaded guilty to attempting to pervert the course of justice, driving uninsured and without a licence.
He was remanded on bail after his barrister Joanna O'Shea asked for a pre-sentence report.
A Renault Clio being driven by Barker was stopped in Franche Road, Kidderminster, at 2am on December 27 last year.
He gave Mr Brewer's details but never produced any documents at the town's police station. Mr Brewer was wrongly summonsed before Barker was arrested on April 10 this year following a stop-check.
