FINE foods and quality gifts are set to entice crowds to Stourport on Sunday for the town's first farmers' and craft market.
It will be staged on the Riverbank Meadow and is one of a range of projects designed to breathe new life into the town.
Stourport Forward is organising the event, which will take place on the second Sunday of every month, in partnership with market management company, LSD Promotions.
Traditionally farmed and home produced products on sale will include organic fruit and vegetables, fresh organic meat from farm reared cattle, free range eggs and a variety of cheeses.
Poultry and game, home baked bread and cakes, locally produced wines and ciders, honey and bee-related products, cottage garden plants and shrubs will also be on offer.
The market will run from 9am onwards and will also feature a selection of fair trade and craft stalls.
LSD Promotions director, Linda McGillicuddy anticipates a big crowd.
"Quality markets are very much in demand these days and local authorities are taking the initiative as they have become more aware of the tremendous potential that a good market has in helping with town centre regeneration," she said.
"The market will compliment existing shops and businesses which should benefit from the extra shoppers and tourists that the market attracts," she said.
The market is one of a range of projects being set up through the Stourport Forward programme, as part of the Market Towns Initiative regeneration programme for Stourport, funded by Advantage West Midlands.
A limited supply of free low energy light bulbs will be available at Sunday's market, through a partnership of Stourport Forward with Lighten Up - an energy efficiency scheme run by Opportunity Bewdley.
