GARDENING CLUB: The April meeting was held on Thursday, April 28 at 7.30pm at Wulstan Hall. This took the form of a social evening and a bring-and-buy sale.
The chairwoman, Jean Norcott, welcomed members and gave thanks to Betty Loach for organising a successful trip to Lynton Spring Gardens with a stop at the Taurus Centre for lunch.
Jean welcomed Nicholas Clark, who gave a brief history lesson with slides about Corsica and his many amusing exploits during several visits to the island.
The next meeting will be on Thursday, May 26, at 7.30pm at Wulstan Hall, when Vic Aspland will give a talk The History of Rock Gardening and the competition will be a home-grown potted alpine.
