IT'S a parent's worst nightmare - losing your child on a busy Saturday morning while out shopping.

But luckily for Karen Phillips, when her daughter Jaye disappeared during a trip to Worcester, she fell into safe hands.

When Mrs Phillips, 40, from Stourport-on-Severn, went to leave WH Smith, she suddenly realised her daughter Jaye was missing.

The shop was searched by staff, but Jaye only turned up 20 minutes later, when Mrs Phillips stopped a policeman, who said there had been a report of a lost child.

A caring couple had came to her aid and calmed her. Jaye had managed to tell them her name and address and they had told police.

When she went to her daughter Mrs Phillips said: "She was white and shouted 'Mummy, Mummy!'

"It was the most traumatic experience of my life. Jaye hadn't gone far but she was frightened, tearful and upset.

"I managed to have a quick conversation with the couple, but that was all. I dearly want to express my gratitude and thanks for their kindness and responsibility towards my daughter."
