PUBGOERS are being urged to swap their pints for shorts and running shoes in time for a Redditch fun run this month.

Organiser Dave Wilkins needs more pub teams to sign up for the charity run at Arrow Valley Lake on Saturday, May 21.

All money raised from entrance fees will be divided between Hospital Radio Pulse, based at the Alexandra Hospital, the Redditch Unicorns and the town's Where Next Association.

But cash raised by participants, including teams, through personal sponsorship can be donated to a charity or organisation of their choice.

"It's a win-win situation for all involved," said Mr Wilkins.

"The more people who enter, the more we will have to give to the nominated charities and groups from the entrance fees."

He is also urging more school teams to enter and has sent information packs out to headteachers across Redditch.

Individuals and teams of 10 have a choice of either a 10km race or 6km fun run. There will also be a 300m toddle for mums and tots.

Application forms are available from McDonalds, the Abbey Stadium, all One-Stop shops, the Palace Theatre, the town hall, Redditch Library and Arrow Valley Countryside Centre.

McDonalds, Peugeot Startins Redditch, Staples and Redditch Council are all sponsoring this year's annual event.
