IT is just weeks since the collapse of MG Rover and Redditch component suppliers appear to be bearing up well, with no reports of major job losses so far.

Redditch Manufacturers Association chairman Graham Tarbuck said there had been no news of redundancies or firms struggling to survive in the wake of the collapse.

Mr Tarbuck said it might take some time for the effects to feed through but added most town firms had braced themselves against the possible collapse of the car manufacturer.

It was revealed two weeks ago that more than 300 Redditch people who worked at Longbridge will lose their jobs.
