I HAVE to agree whole- heartedly with AM Wright's comments (Letters, April 13).

I am the mother of a 16- week-old baby. There are four times more disabled spaces in car park 4 than parent and child spaces.

You cannot tell me there are four times more disabled people in Redditch than parents of under- fives.

Remember, it is ILLEGAL to have an under-five in the car without a child seat so parents have no choice in this.

Have you ever tried getting a baby seat into the car in a normal space?

Well, I can tell you it is impossible as the spaces are too narrow and the pillars get in the way.

The other day I had to leave my son in his pushchair while I reversed out of the space before I could put him in.

There were 25 free disabled spaces but I cannot use them because I could get clamped and fined £70.

I can only remember seeing a few genuinely disabled people in the Kingfisher Centre but there were lots of parents with pushchairs, so what on earth is going on?

To top it all off, I watched a disabled person (who didn't look very disabled to me) park in a parent and child space but when I opened my window to say something, he walked off.

I am not anti-disabled people but I do think something has gone very wrong with the new disability discrimination Act that has forced this new parking.
