EXCITING plans for the future of Spa shopping - which will see top High Street chains coming to Droitwich - have been unveiled in the town centre.
The proposal for phase two of the Salters Shopping Centre development are now on view in the shop window of unit 35 (Bargain Basement), between Dewhursts and Stokes fruit and vegetable shop in the shopping centre.
Townsfolk are being asked to make their comments on forms available from the rack outside the shop front and post them through the letterbox.
Mark Phillipson, of Briant Champion Long, on behalf of the landlords, Kandahar Ltd, said: "The second phase of the scheme is for the extension and refurbishment of the existing shopping centre to provide new retail and restaurant units, a health club/gym and residential apartments."
He added the aim was to make shopping in Droitwich a more attractive prospect but at the same time integrate with the existing shopping area and the town centre.
Mark said: "The proposals represent a significant new investment for the town centre, improving the town's range of retail facilities, thereby sustaining and enhancing its vitality and viability."
Developers say the scheme would offer shoppers an improved range of facilities and economic benefits to both local traders and the town as a whole.
Proposed new retailers to the shopping centre include Argos, The Carphone Warehouse, McKays and Holland and Barratt.
Wychavon District Council has already approved phase one plans submitted by Kandahar to allow for provision of two additional retail units at Salters Shopping Centre for Argos and The Carphone Warehouse.
