ROVERS did their best to keep alive their slim title hopes in the Midland Combination Reserves Division with this hard fought victory on Saturday.
Winger Gary Phillips made sure all of the points went to Rovers when he scored in the 59th minute.
However, Rovers were knocked off the top of the table, despite victory, after Rushall defeated Rugby United 2-1.
On April 27 Rovers handed out a 5-0 thumping to unfortunate Gresley.
Phillips maintained his excellent scoring form with a hat trick, while Craig Thomas and Michael McGrath adding further goals.
