The first round of pool matches for the Prudden Road Surfacing Junior Tennis Cup competition saw Alcester and Inkberrow top their respective groups.
In Pool A Alcester's Jack Bate & Tom Wadelin won all three of their matches beating Bidford 6-2, Snitterfield 6-0 and Stratford 6-3. Bidford's George Naylor and Jack Wain lost 6-4 to Snitterfield but recovered to beat the Stratford pair 6-0.
Studley and Tanworth claimed one win apiece in Pool B which was won by Henley who beat all before them. Studley pair Jack Allum & David Pilkington beat Claverdon 6-2 but then slumped to a 6-4 defeat at the hands of Tanworth's Andrew Turnbull & Lawrence Tibbs.
There were just three teams in Pool D and Inkberrow's Chris Smith & Ricky Allen proved too strong for their opposition beating Ombersley and Pershore by the same 9-1 scoreline.
