STRIKER Adam Stansfield may get his wish of appearing in a second FA Trophy final if Hereford United continue their good pro-gress in non-league's top cup competition.

The Bulls have failed to lift the Trophy in its 34-year history, but it has not stopped bookmakers making them joint-favourites with fellow Nationwide Conference side Carlisle United to end the long wait.

The Edgar Street club's odds will shorten if they beat lowly Eastwood in today's fifth round clash at Coronation Park.

Hot-shot striker Stansfield has sampled the atmosphere of a Trophy final before when scoring the second crucial goal in Yeovil Town's 2-0 win over Stevenage Borough in the 2002 showpiece at Villa Park.

The 26-year-old scooped the man-of-the-match award to boot for the Glovers and now he wants to repeat that success in the white of Hereford.

"It was such a good day, it was something like 30 years since they (Yeovil) had won a major trophy like that," said Stansfield.

"To score in every round apart from the semi-final and then to get the winner and man-of-the-match in the final in front of so many people, and for all my family to be there, was fantastic.

"It's so important for me to win it again, it's such a good day out. I know it's not top of the list at this club but it's a great day out for the fans and players at Villa."

Meanwhile, the latest annual accounts for Hereford are expected to be made public within and chairman Graham Turner confirmed that the year to May 31, 2004, proved a healthy one.

In September last year, the Bulls finally freed themselves of their Company Voluntary Agreement, which had forced Turner to work on a shoestring for six years.

Turner said: "Over the next few days, our accounts will be going out to shareholders in preparation for the AGM. They show a healthy profit on trading over the past 12 months, largely due to the good playing season and transfers."
