MALVERN-based Lords frisbee team took part in their first European tournament earlier this month.

Nine players flew out to spend a week in Russia and take part in Lord Novgorod, a three-day tournament held by the State University Novgorod in Russia.

There were the first team to take part in the tournament from the UK and played some very competitive and spirited matches, beating teams from Sweden and Azerbaijan.

Lords finished in 14th place, but they took home an award for being the most spirited team in the open tournament for 2005.

Lords also took part in the last Winter League tournament on February 13, battling against rain, hail and fierce winds.

Playing iron-man, they won three out of four matches, including beating the top seeds and overall winner of the tournament Boogie Knights from Liverpool.

Lords finished in fourth position overall after the four tournaments, just missing out on third place by one point.

Lords welcome all to indoor training, regardless of ability or experience, held every Thursday at Dyson Perrins sports hall from 6-8pm.
