I AM delighted to have been selected to represent the Liberal Democrats in the forthcoming General Election.

Since being chosen, I have been overwhelmed at the amount of support I already have.

I am the first to hold my hands up and say that I am new to party politics. But when I went for assessment by the Lib Dems I was told that all my skills were transferable and that I would make a good PPC and ultimately a good MP.

The Lib Dem policies are honest, fully-costed, environmentally friendly, easy to understand and easy to explain. Tony Blair is out to woo "Worcester Women" and I think it's only right that the Lib Dems should elect a woman who has lived in Worcester for many years to stand against him!

I am already known in Worcester as someone who is prepared to stand up for what I believe, take on those in authority, and get things done. I look forward to the challenge.

MARY DHONAU,

Liberal Democrat Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Worcester
