ABBEYDOWNE were a player short when they played X-Police in division three of the Malvern League but Roy Holland won three sets and Bill Lucas two to earn them two points for the draw.

Steve Mulka won one and paired with Ralph Cook to win the doubles. Only two of the seven sets were won in straight games with the other five going to four.

Uckinghall are catching up on outstanding matches and have won both their recent games convincingly. However neither wins were as easy as the score line suggests.

For Dynamos Colette James took one game from both Pete Nash and Roger Davies and took Peter Quy to 9-11 in one game, whilst Ian Sage also won a game from Peter Quy but they didn't manage to turn any of these chances into sets.

Don James and Ray Davies each won a set for Maulers and four sets went to five games and another three to four game.

In total 780 points were fought for in the evening and the winning team only scored 44 more points than the losers - just over one point per game played.

RESULTS: X-Police 5, Abbey-downe 5; Dukes Way Dynamos 0, Uckinghall 10; Manor Park Maulers 2, Uckinghall 8.

- Abbey College have withdrawn their team from division three because they cannot complete their fixtures before the end of the season. Consequently all points won against their team will be taken from the league table.
