JIMMY Mullen is wary of the formidable goalscoring threat facing Bromsgrove Rovers in tomorrow's top-of-the-table meeting at Clevedon Town (3pm).

Promotion-chasing Rovers can close the gap on second-placed Clevedon to two points at the top of Southern League Division One West if they steal a victory at the Hand Stadium.

The Victoria Ground club head to Somerset in fine fettle, taking 10 points from their last four league games and coming back from 2-0 down at Yate last Saturday to square the match.

However, Clevedon are the league's second top scorers with 64 and possess the lethal striking duo Thomas Jacobs and Jack Pitcher, both of whom lead the way in the individual scoring charts.

"I expect it will be a really thrilling game and quite an open one," said Mullen. "Clevedon have the two top goalscorers in the league and the team look as if they can score from anywhere.

"We had a very tough game last week and this is going to be another, there's no two ways about it. On top of that, Clevedon are two places above us and going very well.

"If we are fortunate to win the game, that will put the cat among the pigeons in terms of putting us right back in the race for the top two.

"Everything is a test now, every Saturday and every mid-week fixture. The lads are really looking forward to every game though. They have got the bit between their teeth."

Ex-Tottenham and Portsmouth left- winger Andy Turner, a mid-week signing from Banbury, is set to make his debut but Nathan Jameson (head) and Ross Collins (knee) are minor doubts.

Mullen added: "Andy's pedigree is excellent and he will come into the reckoning. Good wide players at this level are few and far between, so we are delighted to have him."
