Paintings of landscapes close to the heart of a Bosbury artist are on display at the Foal Yard Gallery in Bransford.

Veronique Yapp is one of seven artists displaying work in the gallery's latest exhibition, See the Wood from the Trees.

Veronique moved to Britain from the south of France 17 years ago and said she loves to paint landscapes from both countries.

"I started by painting landscapes of Provence, then when I came here I started painting things around Herefordshire," she said. "The exhibition contains paintings of olive trees in Provence as well as scenes in Herefordshire, like huge oak trees and cider orchards. It's great, showing paintings of both my homes."

This will be the first time Veronique has exhibited work in a gallery, though her paintings are on display in local venues and have featured in events in the area.

Other artists featured in the exhibition are Ian Shearman, Rowan McOnegal, Sarah Van Neikerk, Jeff Soan, Alan Kirk and Norman Hopkins.

Anna Brook, of the Foal Yard Gallery, said: "The idea behind the exhibition is either a view of trees and landscapes or work made from wood, and the diversity within it is really nice.

"We've got paintings, wood cuts and wooden carved bowls, which actually come from trees in Worcestershire, they're really beautiful."

The exhibition runs until April 9 and is open Mon-Fri 9am-5.30pm and Sat 9am-5pm.
