IN women's football, Kidderminster Harriers Ladies' county cup run came to an end when they suffered a 5-1 semi final defeat at the hands of holders Headless Cross.

Harriers got off to the perfect start when a poor goal kick was intercepted by Emma Purslow and she set up Rachel Baldwin for a third minute opener.

But Kidderminster's joy was shortlived as Cross opened up a 3-1 lead at half time and added another two after the break.

Even the second half arrival from the bench of striker Kirsty Shepphard, making an encouraging senior debut after impressing for the reserves, failed to get Harriers back into the game. Cross will meet Hereford in the final.

There was more cheer for Kidderminster Ladies Reserves who were on the right end of a 5-1 scoreline in their match with Malvern.

Lisa Price led the way with a second half hat-trick while Kirsty Hughes and Kirsty Roberts were also on target.

The first team travel to TNS on Sunday, while the reserves visit local rivals Burlish Olympic.
