THE longest running touring stage musical of all time, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, arrives at Malvern's Festival Theatre for a short run from Monday.

The Biblical story of Joseph, his 11 brothers and the coat of many colours, was the first musical written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, who went on to write Jesus Christ Superstar and Evita together.

The production has entered the Guinness Book of Records, having completed almost 20 years touring the UK and has enjoyed huge success with standing ovations at every performance.

Malvern-born Richard Swerrun stars as Joseph, together with a "young and vibrant" company of energetic actors, singers and dancers and the memorable score includes Close Ev'ry Door to Me, One More Angel and Any Dream Will Do.

A spokesman said "Joseph is brimming with non-stop action, laughter and infectious fun that is sure to delight the young and the young at heart."

Tickets are selling fast for the show, which runs from February 28 to March 5 at various performance times.
