GRAHAM Turner admits he is pursuing a couple of fresh faces -- which includes capturing winger Joe Anyinsah for a second spell -- to boost Hereford United's promotion charge.

The Bulls chief aimed to keep 20-year-old Anyinsah for a further month's loan earlier this week but Bristol City rejected his request amid a suspension and injury crisis.

Anyinsah is expected to make a return to City's first team today when they travel to Colchester United in Coca-Cola League One.

However, Turner is hopeful the tricky wide man will soon step out for Hereford again this season once the crisis eases at Ashton Gate.

Anyinsah made a huge impression at Edgar Street after appearing six times for the Bulls. He played a major part in back-to-back Conference wins at Aldershot and Barnet.

"We have not ruled out the possibility of Joe coming back," Turner said. "Bristol City have got a number of problems with suspensions. Four of their players are out for the weekend and they desperately needed Joe back.

"He's enjoyed it here and we liked having him. He has the ability to cause defenders a lot of problems with his pace and trickery. He caused full-backs a lot of problems, both coming inside and outside.

"I'm still looking to try and bring in a couple of players from now until the end of the season. We are looking but they have to be the right players. It will be to try and strengthen us in all areas of the field."

Turner believes the loan system can reap huge benefits for non-league clubs and insists it also helps the development of young players struggling to make the breakthrough at Football League sides.

He added: "It certainly has a lot to offer clubs who want to give their players a chance of first-team football. However, there are also a lot of players who may be available for loan but won't add much to your side and you will only be taking him off his club's wage bill.

"I watched Joe play three times before we brought him here. He did extremely well and was well worth taking on. I think it will have helped him a lot."
