GRAHAM Turner was angry with Hereford United's defending after they slipped out of the LDV Vans Trophy northern semi-finals last night.

Visiting Coca-Cola League One outfit Wrexham prevented Bulls adding them to their list of scalps this season that have included Scunthorpe, Doncaster and Blackpool.

But the goals conceded in a 2-1 defeat at Edgar Street could have been prevented, according to Turner.

A win would have made history as Hereford vied to become the first non-league side to reach an LDV area final.

However, the equaliser from Wrexham arrived just a minute after Danny Carey-Bertram opened the scoring.

And Turner blasted: "To concede one as quickly as we did is diabolical.

"Then the winner is a straight-forward flick on from a throw-in. We knew it would be a threat. What we had to do is make sure we marked them, the people who are going on the end of the flick-on, and we didn't.

"We allowed them a bit of time to get hold of it and score. That is a disappointment. I don't feel sorry for them. I'm absolutely livid that we conceded goals in the manner that we did."
