TOWN made it four wins on the trot on Tuesday night and moved up to third in the table.

MALVERN TOWN 3, RACING CLUB WARWICK 1

Despite winning, it was not a pretty performance and Town were made to work hard against the Warwickshire outfit.

After five minutes, Racing Club's Germaine Gordon hit the crossbar and there was an unsuccessful shout for a penalty as Leon Thomas and Nick Clayton tussled over the rebound.

Town's first real effort came following a free-kick from Nathan Jukes. It picked out Andy Chalmers, whose deflection three yards out brought out a tremendous reaction save from keeper Karl Lewis.

Racing Club hit the bar again before Simon Judge sidefooted Town in front from a pass from Phil Preedy. The visitors were then reduced to ten men after Germaine Gordon was sent off after an altercation with Dave Cannon.

Down to 10 men, Racing Club produced a superb flowing move, involving seven players and ending with a shot from a tight angle, which they contested had crossed the line but the referee waved play on.

Chances came thick and fast at either end, including a goaline clearance by Chalmers to save Malvern.

Chasing the game, Racing Club pushed players forward, leaving themselves vulnerable in defence and Duncan Preedy went close, forcing another great save by Lewis.

In the 70th minute, Judge played a nicely weighted ball into the path of Phil Preedy, whose shot was half-saved but spooned up into the net.

Racing Club never gave up and were rewarded when substitute Warren Givens chipped the ball over Wyatt and raced around the goalie before heading home.

The game was settled when Judge held off a strong defensive challenge and fed to Cox, who in turn found Phill Preedy eight yards out for his second and Town's third.
