JAN Molby has hinted that he may be making more signings before Kidderminster Harriers open their Division Three campaign with a home clash against Scunthorpe United on Saturday, August 11.

The Harriers chief said: "We have a very young squad of 22 players with a lot of ability, but I would like to add another face or two if the right player comes available."

Molby, however, stresses that he will not be rushed into making any new signings.

"Just because we have a bit of money in the kitty it doesn't mean I'm going to go running around trying to spend it for the sake of it," he said.

So far he has made two close-season captures by snapping up midfielders Sam Shilton, following his release from Hartlepool United, and Danny Williams on a free transfer from Wrexham.

Both are expected to be involved tomorrow when Harriers begin their programme of pre-season friendlies against Bromsgrove at the Victoria Ground (3pm).

Molby is running the rule over a number of trialists including Darren Middleton, Craig Dean and Ian Joey.

Middleton made an appearance for Harriers reserves last season but finished last term playing for Conference side Forest Green Rovers.

Dean, 26, is also trying to impress Molby in training having recently returned from a spell in America. He has also had experience with Danish side Esbjerg, Norwegian outfit Sogndal and Manchester United.

Nineteen year-old Joey is a left back who has been connected with Tranmere Rovers in the past.

Bromsgrove have also been making plans for their new season in the Midland Alliance with boss Steve Daniels trying to attract former Birmingham City striker Kevin Francis to the Victoria Ground.

Another of his targets this week has been former Blues midfielder Dean Peer.
