NOTED musician Julian Lloyd Webber visited Malvern last week to give young people a masterclass for violin and cello
Students from local schools, including Northleigh Primary, St James's and Malvern College, attended the event at Malvern Girls' College.
The musician gave valuable advice to four students, Sarah Li, Natalie Halliday, Francesca Clixby and Kate Valentine as they played and then performed Bach's Air on a G String.
He also answered questions from the audience, telling them Elgar's Cello Concerto is his favourite piece of music, that he liked to listen to jazz and that he still practises his scales for 15 minutes daily.
Girls' College director of music Mike Hamilton said: "It was extremely valuable for these girls to have this opportunity to learn from a master. It was very rewarding to hear the difference in their playing after only a short period of instruction from Julian Lloyd Webber."
Members of Malvern Girls' College Choir have also been through their paces this week, singing at the church of St Martin in the Field in London.
