A CONTEMPORARY folk band from Upton is doing a charity gig at Huntingdon Hall, Worcester, tomorrow (Saturday).

Reel Bones offers a wide range of music from traditional Irish jigs to Pink Floyd numbers.

The band consists of Mark Wooley (guitar, vocals), Rowan Thomas (bodhran) and Will Thomas (violin).

The concert has been arranged by Malvern fundraiser John Banner to mark the end of a summer of charity cricket matches.

Tickets are £8 from 01905 611427. Mr Banner will donate £1 for each ticket sold. This year, half the funds raised will go to BBC Hereford & Worcester's Money Marathon. The other half will go to a cause yet to be decided.

Mr Banner is open to suggestions and can be reached on 01684 569285.

Also at the hall this week, Dutch progressive rockers Focus will perform at 8pm on Monday.

The group had a series of UK hits during the 1970s including Harem Scarem, House of the King and Sylvia. They re-emerged in the 90s and have performed international sell-out shows. Tickets are £15.

On Tuesday, North and South Poles expedition leader Pen Hadow, from the Royal Geographical Society, will give a talk at 8pm. Tickets are £10 (£9 concs).

At 8pm on Friday, Ashley Hutchings will perform with folk band The Rainbow Chasers. Tickets are £9 (£8 concs).
