GOOD for you for printing those anti-hunting letters last week. I have always been opposed to such savage sports and wish to see it placed with bear baiting and dog fighting - all banned.
It is not a case of the freedom of the countryside, it is about the dignity of our wildlife. Of course, the fox is a savage animal (as, indeed, are some humans!). It isn't going to turn vegetarian overnight. Foxes need a humane system of control.
If it were a choice between a swift end from a poison bullet or a long chase by a pack of hounds intent on tearing me apart, I know what I'd choose.
If these people must go through the countryside on horses, then a drag hunt must be the answer. If prevents all this nonsense about destroying their traditional way of life.
Could it be that it's not just sport they are after, but it has to be a blood sport. What sort of people think like that?
