Having got tickets for The Billy Fury Story at Malvern Theatres for last Saturday evening my parents set off in good time, before 7pm, only to find there was absolutely no- where to park within a two mile radius. My mother uses a wheelchair and father is recovering from knee surgery, so neither could walk far.

Popping into the theatre, they found out the show did not begin until 8pm, though advertised as 7.30pm, but this was useful as it gave them time to find that essential parking space - except they never did and after more than an hour of driving round and becoming distressed, they were forced to return home, very disappointed.

Not the Theatres fault at all and they were brilliant providing a full refund but how many others gave up due to the lack of parking spaces and is there anything that can be done to provide more space?

Had we only known that this situation was likely we could have made other arrangements to get them there and collect them later but we had no idea parking could be so difficult. Was it simply that it was a Saturday and coincided also with the final performance of The Price? Or is it always like this? Just how early must we arrive to get a space and can any enterprising Malvern resident 'loan' us their driveway next time?
