MEMBERS of Upton Rowing Club spent a weekend in Amsterdam competing in a regatta.
Two veteran crews of four women and four men took part in the annual De Hoop competition on the River Amstel last Saturday (October 2).
The crews entered the 1,000m and 4,000m race and, as there was no competition for the women, they were awarded a trophy for 'Most Deserving Appearance of a Women's Crew Without Victory in Age Group'.
Club member Penny Stevenson said: "It was great fun. It was beautiful to go along the Amstel, which is not dissimilar in size to the River Severn."
