A UNIQUE form of modern dance that incorporates fibre optic costume and lighting will come to Malvern Theatres on Tuesday, October 19.

Jardin Blanc features five dancers directed and choreographed by Yolande Snaith, who perform around a set of lighting structures created by designer Sharon Marston.

Using fibre optic strands and costume, the dancers bring to life the theme of gardens, including the movement of plants and flowers as they grow through the seasons.

The landscape shifts between stark and skeletal to a vibrant field of colour and costume, accompanied by music from composers Jean Jacques Palix and David Coulter.

Spokeswoman Clair Chamberlain described the show as very organic. She said: "If you're a garden fanatic and are new to theatre or dance, you will love it. There's a lot to be got out of it."

Yolande Snaith has been working as a choreographer since graduating from the Dartington College of Arts in 1984 and has worked on films including Stanley Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut.

The show starts at 7.30pm and tickets cost from £10 to £12 from the Malvern Theatres box office on 01684 892277.
