EMERGENCY service crews worked together to help rescue a woman who had injured herself after falling down some stairs in her first floor flat in Worcester.
Paramedics were called to the property - above a butcher's shop on Lowesmoor - at 7.20am this morning to find the casualty had injured her neck and back.
They called for assistance from firefighters as they were unable to get the woman out of her flat on a spine-board because the stairs were too steep and winding.
A fire crew from Worcester subsequently attended at 8.30am and firefighters used a turntable ladder to reach the woman and help paramedics get her out of a fire escape.
Police closed the road for a short period due to the turntable ladder obstructing traffic and the woman was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
