FISHING tackle worth £1,700 was stolen from a car parked in Stourport-on-Severn.
Thieves smashed the rear window of a Ford Mondeo parked on The Walshes estate between 8pm on Monday and 8am yesterday.
The haul included two Shakespeare rods, two carp rods in black plastic tubes, a 10m Shakespeare fishing pole, a fishing bag containing a green shelter, a box seat, weights, leads, hooks and scales.
The vehicle's radio was also ripped out.
"Virtually this man's entire collection of fishing equipment was stolen," a police spokesperson said.
"He is devastated, particularly as some of the items are irreplaceable."
