AT THE annual general meeting of Evesham Cricket Club, former second team skipper and 2004 cricket manager David Higginson was the popular choice to become the new chairman.
Barry Clements was re-elected first team captain, Andy Shorey will take charge of the second string with James Savory continuing in charge of the third team. Richard Layton will skipper the Sunday first team next year.
Peter Davidson becomes vice-chairman and chairman of the Grounds Committee, with Bob Shaw continuing as secretary and Will Bailey as treasurer.
Matt Jackson was elected to the key post of junior manager and coach, with the job of setting up the club's new junior committee working with parents and schools, to manage Evesham's flourishing junior section.
James Bailey was elected to a new post of player development officer from where he will chair selection meetings and take an overview of recruitment to make the best use of all the club's players, especially the tricky transition for youngsters from junior to senior cricket.
Mike Granacki is the new sponsorship officer, while Peter Birch continues as social fundraising manager.
