ONE of the smallest village halls in the Cotswolds is hosting a West End show next week.
Think No Evil of Us: My Life with Kenneth Williams, is an award-winning portrayal of the comic genius by David Benson, which has toured Britain since its launch in 1996.
Next Thursday, it is coming to Westcote Village Hall, supported by Air in G (Arts in Rural Gloucestershire).
The show has won acclaim with many of Williams' friends, thanks to Benson's classy mimicry and care in material selection.
"I want to portray Kenneth Williams as a character rather than a historical figure," said Benson, who puts across the life of a complex, vulnerable and insecure man.
Williams enduring appeal for Benson, he said, is his ability 'to continually redeem himself by turning his private torment into blistering comedy'.
Tickets, £6, can be booked by calling Christine Walford on 01993 831196 or 07834 493637.
