ARTS AND CRAFTS SOCIETY: Shipston Arts and Crafts Society met at the Townsend Hall when Pat Sandford announced an art course at Stow entitled Art in Context. Members interested in demonstrating or taking part in workshops at Southam should see Pat for information. On Saturday, December 4 Jill Licence is organising an outing to Cirencester Museum and Craft Market by coach, cost £10.
The guest speaker, Mr Ray Key, started his illustrated talk Career in Wood with his early days as an apprentice wooden pattern maker, followed by a move to the Rootes group making models of cars in clay. After eight years he bought his first lathe and was hooked.
The group meets on the third Tuesday in the month at 7.30pm at the Townsend Hall and visitors are welcome.
